At the Grupa Azoty Group, we know that the competencies of our employees translate into the competencies of the entire organisation. We are aware that only by investing in continual expansion of our personnel’s knowledge can we respond to the challenges posed by the 21st century and deliver or Strategy for 2021-2030. The companies have prepared comprehensive training packages for employees in various positions – we seek to develop worker skills, specialist skills and managerial competencies. We organise internal and external training, with sessions taught both on-site and online. We also strictly follow the regulations applicable to employees’ licences required for individual positions, ensuring that they are timely and regularly renewed and that employee knowledge is up-to-date.

In 2021, at the four main companies of the Grupa Azoty Group the average number of training hours per male employee was 7, and 6.6 per female employee, which means a year-on-year increase of 19% and 90%, respectively. The increase was due to the need to make planned renewals of employee licences and to provide training that was not organised in 2020 due to COVID-19.

BEST PRACTICE

Thanks to our cooperation with KPT ScaleUP, the Grupa Azoty S.A. Knowledge Academy was also established as an extensive e-learning platform representing a modern response to the training and information needs of the Company’s employees. As part of the Academy, we provide 39 courses on such topics as management, IT, interpersonal skills and work safety. Employees can take those courses at a place and time of their choice. The system also facilitates the creation of individual learning paths and monitoring of learning progress, together with testing of acquired knowledge. The course library will be expanded and updated. In the future, the Knowledge Academy may be available to employees of all Grupa Azoty Group companies.

We combined the pilot implementation of the Academy with a test of training based on augmented reality. An on-the-job training manual was prepared in this way at the Caprolactam Polymerisation Department. 

BEST PRACTICE

In 2021, we launched the SMART COMBO project for employees approaching retirement. Our aim is to help them find attractive ways of spending time after leaving the labour market – plan their future as pensioners, discover their talents and find new interests. The final goal is to develop a tool suitable for the needs related to a future retiree’s plans. 

We have tested the tool on more than 20 volunteer employees due to retire next year.

In 2021, in view of the state of epidemic and the need to limit direct contact, we decided not to conduct periodic assessments of our employees. At Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn and Grupa Azoty S.A., employees underwent quarterly assessments in connection with the bonus payment scheme.
